The Company

Evolving into offshore wind installation leadership

With a clear strategic shift into the wind installation market, Eneti Inc. needed to move beyond legacy vessel models and logistics systems. The company recognised that to lead in wind turbine installation services, it had to optimise vessel combinations, port and transport logistics, and weather-related constraints ahead of major project execution.

The Motivation

Reducing uncertainty in installation logistics and cost

In offshore wind installation, vessel scheduling, weather windows and logistics uncertainty can drive both risk and cost. Eneti Inc. needed a digital solution to simulate these variables and evaluate different vessel and logistics strategies in advance. The goal was to achieve better operational planning, improved resource utilisation, and stronger cost control for its expanding wind business.

“With multi-vessel analysis, we are able to optimize the solution for our clients by assessing which vessel, or combination of vessels provides the most operational and capital efficiency. The weather simulation using multi-factor constraints enables us to consider more than just significant wave height and wind speeds, and to more accurately predict and analyze real-world outcomes“.

The Solution

Partnering with Shoreline for installation strategy

Eneti Inc. adopted Shoreline’s cloud-based simulation platform to perform multi-vessel logistics modelling and weather-sensitive scenario analysis. The platform enabled Cadeler to assess vessel combinations, simulate transfers and operations under realistic sea and weather conditions, and integrate data from wind farm, vessel and weather sources into one unified system. This digital insight strengthened Cadeler’s decision-making on vessel deployment, logistics design and cost forecasting.

The Results

Improved planning precision and operational agility

With simulation tools integrated into its installation strategy, Eneti Inc. gained:

• Greater clarity on vessel deployment options and logistics trade-offs
• Deeper insight into weather and operational constraints ahead of execution
• A stronger foundation for cost forecasting and planning

This strategic capability strengthens Eneti's position in the offshore wind market and supports its growth across large-scale installation projects.
