About

Ocean Winds is a major global offshore-wind developer, systemically active across multiple markets and technologies (fixed-bottom and floating). The company drives large-scale wind-farm rollout with emphasis on innovation, cost efficiency and asset performance.

“We have successfully worked with Shoreline Wind´s Design solution on all our development projects for several years, and it was a natural choice to continue the good relationship into the execution phase for our projects. As OW portfolio will continue to accelerate its global growth, the selected EAM software would need to cope with increasingly high number of additions in projects, users, tasks and assets going forward. With a scalable foundation for all our bottom-fixed and floating offshore wind farms, we can start benchmarking and managing all assets in one platform. The first implemented project was Moray East, and we managed to successfully complete training and onboarding within a very short time frame, allowing us to quickly start maximizing asset availability."

The Company

Leading global offshore-wind growth through operational scale

Ocean Winds brings together international renewable-energy expertise and a fast-growing offshore-wind portfolio. With dozens of projects across geographies, the company recognised that scale must be matched by operational maturity — hence the need for a unified, advanced asset-management solution to manage the large volumes of tasks, assets and data involved in offshore wind O&M.

The Motivation

From fragmented O&M systems to unified asset-management

As Ocean Winds’ portfolio expanded, multiple maintenance systems, manual reporting workflows and siloed data were limiting visibility, slowing response and raising cost risk. The company sought a scalable digital backbone that could handle high asset counts, streamline inventory and resource management, and support growth without operational bottlenecks.

“Previously, CMMS solution have mostly been developed for other energy industries like oil and gas and no offshore wind specific solution have so far been available. Offshore wind will be the fastest-growing renewable technology in the next decade, and it’s imperative for Ocean Winds to deploy projects more rapidly and to operate more efficiently. Therefore, we collaborate closely in using the software to create a unique CMMS framework."

The Solution

Implementing Shoreline’s enterprise-CMMS for offshore wind

Through its partnership with Shoreline Wind, Ocean Winds adopted a cloud-based Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) built for the wind-industry lifecycle. The platform enables inventory and task tracking, integrates technicians, vessels and assets, supports large-scale onboarding across bottom-fixed and floating farms, and gives a unified view of asset health, scheduling and maintenance loads.

The Results

Operational control, scale and cost-efficiency achieved

With the implementation of Shoreline’s CMMS, Ocean Winds achieved:

  • Accelerated onboarding of multiple wind-farm sites under one platform

  • Consolidated asset and maintenance data enabling benchmark-driven decision-making

  • A scalable foundation for both fixed-bottom and floating wind O&M operations

The collaboration positions Ocean Winds to manage growth more confidently, reduce risk, and deliver stronger asset performance across its global portfolio.

“This agreement shows that the wind industry is moving into a new digital era. Maintaining business-critical wind farm data has become far too complex and prohibit many projects from operating within the targets for cost-efficiency while improving availability. Together with Ocean Winds, we can improve the way, the wind industry defines CMMS. As a SaaS software, the CMMS solution will constantly be optimized based on the ongoing requirements and experience from Ocean Winds, but also from other market leading offshore operators and turbine OEMs in Shoreline Wind’s portfolio. A future-proof setup for enterprise asset management."
